    Recently, I spent a morning filming a segment for an upcoming Tennessee Wildside program. The focus of the piece will be my “Missing Nature” exhibit that was at the Parthenon in downtown Nashville. The camera man was filming me making photographs when I noticed the light on these Golden Ragwort flowers. I got so excited that I literally forgot that he was there. Here is one of the images I came away with on that morning.

    I have photographed on Sanibel Island Florida nearly every year for the last 20+ years.

    Each time I visit I have different ideas for the images that I am going to create.

    This time was no different. I spent 5 days photographing from before sunrise until well after sunset each day. I added some new impressionistic views, closeups, landscapes and abstracts to my portfolio on this trip.

    Abstract nature images have been a large part of my fine art photographic work  for quite some time. This abstract seascape entitled Ocean Tones was mentioned in a blog  post on Erinn•V•Style.

    Erinn Valencich is a world class designer who has appeared on many television programs including the View and HGTV.

    Here is the photographic result of taking a wrong turn in the middle of the night and falling down a short (7ft) flight of stairs the next night.

    One concussion, 8 stitches, a few CAT scans, EEGs and some x-rays later …. I’m back out into the wilderness where it is safer!
