We are currently printing and coating 52 canvas prints for another project that we are working on. We print them with a mixed lighting profile (so they will look good under various lighting conditions). Then Triple UV coat them for extra protection and to make sure that the color won’t fade.

Above is a photograph of a 7 foot gallery wrapped canvas in the process of printing for one of our clients in Minnesota. We are printing a lot of canvases for our clients but it is always fun to take a break to see an image that I saw just a few months ago through the viewfinder of my camera actually appear in print.

We print on all sorts of substrates including wood, acrylic, glass and metal. More on that in an upcoming post.

We triple coat our canvases to insure they are protected against the color fading effects of UV light and the occasional bump, scrape, or fingerprint (which can be wiped off with a soft cloth).

Print Ready for coating below:

Reflections in Oak Creek at Red Rock crossing at Cathedral Rock

So I’m looking at my iPhone at the Travel Channel in the news app. I’m reading the article about 15 Fall Getaways (always looking for more places to shoot), and what do I find?
This image that I took in Sedona a few years ago!! It is also on the Travel Channel’s website.

It was sold through one of my agencies. The agencies don’t tell me of each usage as the sales are made. I just get a statement with a line description of usage and royalties. So it was a fun coincidence to see my image!!

More than 20 years ago I stepped onto Couchville Cedar Barrens and saw the Tennessee Coneflower for the first time. Geoff Roach, who at that time worked for The Tennessee Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, led me on the short hike. I was awestruck!! There were hundreds of these endangered flowers growing in one location!! I photographed them everyday for nearly a month. in 1999 one of the images was chosen as the cover of the Bell South Telephone book for the state. Now the flower has been delisted. There are a lot fewer flowers now than there used to be.
I still return at least once a year to photograph the glades and the flowers. Here is the phone book cover and a few images that I made on the 8th of June 2016.

I visited and revisited this area multiple times while I was in the Big Sur in California. Each time was magical in a different way!
