“Nature uses only the longest threads to weave her patterns, so that each small piece of her fabric reveals the organization of the entire tapestry.” – Richard P. Feynman

This Spring I was sitting at the table, in our breakfast room, and looking out the window at the dogwood tree which grows just outside. “There is another alphabet, whispering from every leaf, singing from every river, shimmering from every sky.” ― Dejan Stojanovic

“The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs towards him”. ~Auguste Rodin

The surprise lily is one of my favorite flowers. The petals almost look like brush strokes. There is great joy in exploring a flower and discovering all the possibilities among the patterns, shapes and colors. It is the easiest way I know to get into the creative “zone”.

“An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day. ” Henry David Thoreau

I love hiking in the forest in deep fog. Sometimes finding images in these conditions can be difficult at first. “In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.” Antoinette Brown Blackwell

I think it is only natural as an artist to evolve. In the past couple of years patterns have become a deep source of inspiration whenever I go into nature to photograph. Discovering, isolating, composing and photographing these abstract patterns is exciting and fulfilling……
