I love hiking in the forest in deep fog. Sometimes finding images in these conditions can be difficult at first. This is especially true if you have a preconceived idea of what you will see and photograph.  I have found however, that if I accept the fog, the light and the obscured view, images abound….

I think it is only natural as an artist to evolve. In the past couple of years patterns have become a deep source of inspiration whenever I go into nature to photograph. Discovering, isolating, composing and photographing these abstract patterns is exciting and fulfilling……

Early one morning this past fall I hiked out to a bluff at Big South Fork where I like to photograph. It offers so many photographic opportunities that I find myself drawn to it anytime that I am in the area. This time however it was so socked in with fog that I finally decided to head back. It was on the walk back that the fog shrouded forest inspired me to create this image.

One of  the most fascinating aspects of my journey as a nature photographer has been searching for and discovering patterns in nature. They are everywhere, sometimes obvious and sometimes nearly hidden…..

One of our clients sent us this picture of an installation of one of our images as an ” around the corner” installation in a healthcare facility. It is on frosted Plexi and it is 8 feet high by 16 feet long! We think it is a creative way to approach using art for a corridor space.

Uncovering Masterpieces of Nature Across Tennessee
